Smooth Stampin up!

Really pleased with this card!  Ink used are all stampin up - Blushing Bride, Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush.  The stamps are from the Flower Patch and Crazy about You sets.

Happy Die is from Clearly Besotted - great value only £2.00 and nice quality too.  I was going to use my Stampin Up Happy die, but it was too big for the scrap of cardstock I had left, this little one works just as nicely ;)

I stamped the inside of the card and the envelope just for a bit of extra pretty.
How to get a smooth image with Stampin Up Ink

I find the Stampin Up stamps really juicy, and it's quite difficult to get a smooth image, especially with the larger photopolymer stamps.

I have found that if I give the inked up stamp a gentle dab with a bit of cheap baby sponge or dish sponge it really makes a difference.  Have a look at the inked up stamp and you can see where the ink has beaded up. The sponge breaks up the beading just enough to make your inking more even.

If you find that you are getting a lot of ink soaked into your bit of sponge, you can use it to ink the the next impression rather than using the ink pad.  Don't use anything to absorbent, it will suck up all your ink!  I've also tried brushes, but that can be rather streaky.

  1. When you started talking about SU ink, I knew you where from the UK. I live in the US, but my favorite people to follow are from the UK. Thanks for honesty. The US demonstrated rarely use or talk about the ink. I'm sorry to say I use my SU ink to practice only.
